Obviously it would be good for him to go straight to an M1 MacMini with a large screen, but if he can't run PSE, that may be a showstopper for him. I am doing the research for a friend who is about to replace his 2009 iMac with new hardware. All a bit strange, and Adobe does not seem inclined to help, as if they didn't care much.įor me the situation is not so critical, as I have a 2018 Intel MacMini on which PSE runs without issues. On a Mac, the status bar information appears at the bottom of each image window. What is however very puzzling to me is that in the App information screen I cannot see any reference to Rosetta 2, which should be the case if I try to run an Intel app on an M1 machine. M1 50 ' image window Tip Move the Hints palette to the lower-right. In the activities app all things Adobe are listed as Intel, not native Apple. ![]() My conclusion at this point is that PSE does NOT run natively on M1 and one need to wait for Adobe to implement it. You can buy a perpetual license to Capture One for 349 and a subscription for 29 per month. ![]() Adobe does not seem to be very forthcoming with information regarding M1 compatibility. Capture One is a powerful Photoshop competitor for Mac. I had seen the document Sepiana mentioned, but interestingly it does not even list PSE or PRE. I posted on Adobe Support a few days ago, but no answer so farĬ/t5/photoshop-elements/installing-pse-2021/m-p/11892342#M67573 Thanks a lot everyone for the quick responses.
